A hand-made merinos blanket
You know, I don"t understand some of the latest trends. I am talking about all these gadgets and all sorts of things that are supposed to be miraculous, and of course cost a lot of money, but are no better than some traditional, hand-made things. Let"s talk about blankets. I went to a concert last night. It took place in a huge park where people could sit on the grass and enjoy the performance. Most of them had brought one of those modern-looking silver foam pads that would be more appropriate for a trip to the mountains, if you were supposed to sleep in a tent. The audience were sitting on a hill, so all those pads turned out to be too slippery. I wonder if these people realised that a simple merinos blanket is much more comfortable in such situations. It provides insulation, it"s light, comfortable, and soft and it looks much better. You can carry it in you backpack. You can wrap it around your shoulders if you are cold. Of course, I have a foam pad at home, too, and it comes in handy in some situations, but in a majority of cases, I prefer my old merinos blanket. I always carry it with me when I"m going to see a concert or another kind of performance or simply relax by the river bank with my family or friends on a summer day.
